Research states that participation in the performing arts transfers to success in other academic areas. The Performing Arts Conservatory’s approach to instruction will include intense study in music, dance and theatre across many cultures. Participants at The Performing Arts Conservatory will study in an ensemble based on their perspective gifts and interests (vocal, instrumental, theatrical or dance). In addition, they receive small group instruction in their specific area. These same techniques of instruction (collaboration, cooperative learning groups, coaching and problem-based) will help them be successful in other content areas of math, English, social studies, science and physical education/health. Participation in The Performing Arts Conservatory programs will also impact the lives of youth positively encouraging creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration (21st Century Skills).
